A new cybersecurity chief hired by Twitter 

Rinki Sethi has been hired as twitter new chief security officer after a high profile security breach was reported in July.

Sethi has extensive experience in cybersecurity as she has previously served as a chief information security officer at data management Rubrik, and has also worked in cybersecurity roles at IBM, Palo Alto Networks and Intuit.  Sethi former experience makes her a suitable candidate for the job.

Rinki has also played a lead role in developing cutting edge online security infrastructure at numerous Fortune 500 companies. Hence she will bring a wealth of valuable industry expertise to twitter. Her ability and experience in cybersecurity will help twitter protect its system more efficiently. 

Sethi at her new job is given the role of overseeing the company's information security practice and policies. Sethi will report to platform lead, Nick Tornow, she tweeted announcing the job move.

Sethi is currently serving as an advisor to many startups which includes LevelOps and Authomize, and many cybersecurity organizations like Women in Cybersecurity.

Information security officer role had been left vacant by Twitter since Mike Convertino, twitter previous security chief, left in December to join cyber resilience firm Arceo.

Twitter, a social media platform was hit by very public cyberattack in July. Hacker hit the company's internal admin tools. The hackers hijacked high profile twitter accounts to spread a cryptocurrency scam. They successfully used a social engineering technique called voice phishing which involves tricking someone on the phone to let them hand over passwords or access to the internal system.
